Cornwall Music Service Trust has been running the Open School Orchestra project in Cornwall since 2016. Young musicians with special educational needs or disabilities (SEN/D) from Pencalenick and Richard Lander School have formed open school orchestras, and been on an amazing journey - musically, socially, and personally.

At the end of the first year, Richard Lander School helped us explore what truly inclusive music is about. Patrick Bailey led workshops with Year 10 GCSE students and SEN/D students from the Ark to create a piece of music, finishing with this performance. CMST hopes to build on this work as it brings Open School Orchestras to new schools in 2017-18.
