Congratulations go to Cerys Osborne who has been awarded the CMST Pupil of The Year, 2017.
An independent adjudicator has had the difficult task of reviewing all of the 2017 Pupil of the Month winners and deciding on who the award should go to. The decision took some time to make but the adjudicator was so impressed with the rate of progression and commitment that Cerys had demonstrated, that they felt the inaugural CMST Pupil of the Year Award was well deserved by her.
Her teacher Anna Minear said “As Cerys' teacher I am of course delighted that Cerys was selected from the monthly winners of 2017. Cerys is a hard working pupil who after just 2 years is already working towards her grade 5, and is also a committed member of Triggshire Wind Orchestra. This award will certainly give her further encouragement to keep up the work she puts in both at home and in her lesson time, and I'm sure it won't be too long before Cerys is a member of one of the fantastic County Youth ensembles. ”
We took the time to ask Cerys how she felt about receiving this prestigious award and here is what she had to say: “I am astonished to receive the award and didn't expect to be winning overall at all. I feel extremely proud of myself. A huge thanks to my teacher, Anna Minear, for all her hard work and encouragement since I started just 2 years ago this very week. "

A special bequest has been made from the family of Carole Chamberlain to Mabe Ladies Choir who have decided to use the money to have a trophy made for the CMST Pupil of Year Award. A special presentation will be made to Cerys as part of a Mabe Ladies Concert and we wholeheartedly thank the family of Carole and Mabe Ladies for this very thoughtful gesture.
